Jessel Miller
 |
| |
Jessel Miller was born in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada in 1949. Her Father was a country doctor/artist and Mom was the festive singer, poet and entertainer in the family. Jessel was an extremely shy and withdrawn child. (hard to believe when you meet her now!)
A portrait artist for 15 years, Jessel had her first one-person show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1980 with paintings of famous Bay Area Personalities like Maya Angelou and Herb Caen.
Napa had always reminded Jessel of her small town roots, so in 1984 she picked up her life and opened the Jessel Gallery in Napa, California.
Jessel is unique in that she not only runs the largest gallery in the Napa Valley, she also paints amazing, vivid views of the wine country and continues to write and illustrate “Read Aloud Books for Children and Adults”. Angels in the Vineyards written in 2002 won the American Book Award for Excellence in Literature.
Her latest endeavor is a dream for Jessel. She sings back-up vocals for world-class performer Terry Bradford. Terry was Celine Dion’s Vocal partner and now Jessel is Terry’s good friend and supporter on his road to global recognition.
In recent years Jessel’s Son Ryan joined the Jessel Gallery Team. Ryan provides his framing expertise, his computer savvy and his lovely, gentle ability to welcome and work with all the clients.
Through her writing, art and vocal skills, Jessel carries the treasures of her childhood out into the world. “ I feel fortunate to have lived before television and computers. My childhood was a time of make-believe, imagination and creativity, and visiting with neighbors and friends was an everyday occurrence: a simple life lived with respect and compassion for all.” |

California artist Susan Hoehn is best known for her vibrant hues reflecting the beauty of the landscapes she paints. From vineyards to romantic seaside vistas Ms. Hoehn captures the essence of the contemporary landscape.
Susan Hoehn received a B.A. in Art from the University of California at Berkeley where she was schooled in a variety of mediums. As a student in the late 70’s she studied painting under Joan Brown. During that period she worked part time for the University Bear Backers designing brochure covers for athletic events.
Ms Hoehn is married and has 3 children. She was fortunate to be able to stay home with her children when they were young and pursue her passion for art. As a landscape painter, it is her life long pursuit to capture color light and shadow and translate this vision to bring enjoyment to others. The vineyards of California epitomize this harmony.
Susan visits the wine country several times a year exploring new locations to photograph and paint. She is most inspired by summer and fall as the color, light and shadows unite to form that perfect composition. Susan knows she is ultimately successful when someone viewing her painting experiences the same delight from the scene as she did. |
