Holiday Cards

This is the last class of 2018 and everyone came prepared to paint an image that could be made into a Holiday Greeting Card. It was a very large class and I had lots of ideas for the students to work from. The main thing I asked everyone to do is put a border of some kind on their image. It was such a fun filled class and a joyous way to end the year together. Classes will start again in January. Happy Holidays to everyone and keep painting your dreams!

Cigar Box Art

​This week I gave everyone a choice of a Cigar Box to paint. We used acrylic paints and several people said they stretched their comfort zone. Several people also were painting for the first time in acrylic. I gave people choices of images to work from and it always surprises me that each person came up with such interest subject matter. This is the start of the concept for our Valentine's show called the Outside the Box Show.

From Black and White to Color

​This week everyone got a black and white version of a Timothy Dixon painting and came up with their own rendition of this wonderful piece. The differences were astounding and wonderful and in the second half of the class I handed out the colored version of the concept for the finishing touches. All the pieces are wonderful and some of the colors surprising. Pam mentioned that she applied the skills she learned in last week's class about hard and soft found and lost edges and she liked her piece a lot.

Class Information

All levels welcome - from beginners to expert.  No experience necessary!

$50/class or 4 classes for $160. Gift certificates available.

This is not a continuous class. You can jump in any week and I will surprise you with the subject matter and medium.  You will leave each class with a complete piece.

Class Details

• NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! This is a class for Beginners and Beyond, meaning all levels.
• This is not a continuous class so you can jump in any week and I will surprise you with the subject matter and medium.
• I work in mainly watercolor but I also paint on glass or use acrylic.
• I have some supplies for sale like palettes and paper and I supply the product to first-time students and then give you a list of things to purchase for the class (but I also have supplies if you forget yours!).
• It helps if you RSVP so I save a place for you in class. (the room fits 9 people so I like to know we have enough room).
• We have a 1/2 hour Potluck Lunch each week and whatever you bring is perfect and it always works out.
• Class starts promptly here at the gallery at 10:30am each Saturday morning and goes to about 2pm.
• Class tickets of 4 are $160 or $50 for one class and gifts certificates are available.
• I have only one rule about this class. Leave your judgments at the door and plan to be delighted, excited and surprised by your own creative process.
• You will leave with a completed piece of art each.   ​
