I create handcrafted beaded jewelry with my foundation being in painting, fiber arts and textile design. I started “stringing” beads early on and once I took my first formal jewelry class was no turning back.
I find much inspiration in ancient Egyptian and Etruscan art as well as being passionately inspired by the colors of nature… flowers, leaves, butterflies, birds and sea shells. Each piece that I create has its own energy as do the things in nature that inspire me. I look at my jewelry in terms of its composition with contrasts of intriguing colors and textures, which create a classic yet modern statement. |
Being creative is an essential part of my life. What I enjoy most is finding a unique element, which could be a vintage brooch, some beautiful feathers, or unique stone, and bring this item to be the focal point of a new accessory to be enjoyed and appreciated both the wearer and the viewer. Every accessory I make is a one of a kind piece from the uniqueness of each element to the one time creation.
I have explored and enjoyed needle arts of all kinds throughout my life from needlepoint, crochet, quilting, sewing, and beading. It is these experiences that have inspired me to bring together the textures of leather, lace, fabric, yarn, and feathers, with stones, beads, chains and metals. I would describe my pieces as strong and bold and yet always feminine. |
Phil and Ann Leech have been creating jewelry in Northern California since 1997. They have combined their talents creating hand-fabricated jewelry of silver, gold and stones. Inspiration for their designs is from numerous sources, including stones and shells, architectural forms, and most recently, natural rock formations seen on the coast of Kauai. Their similar art backgrounds give them different, but compatible, perspectives to bring to their collaboration.

I am a Mendocino County jeweler working mainly in silver, semi-precious stone, and pearls. My style ranges from the traditional to the modern, and is completely unique. All of my pieces are individually handmade, and are therefore one-of-a-kind or in small series with repeating motifs.
I define jewelry as creations which are useful, artistic, symbolic, identifying, and an expression of personal ideas. My intentions for each one-of-a-kind piece are that it is clean looking, distinctive, and artistically rendered. |
I design and create one of a kind custom wax cast jewelry and accessories. I take the gem stones, form wax around them, make the mold, melt wax out in kilm, cast in whatever metal is desired, saw, grind, finish and polish piece then set the stone, it takes over a week to make one piece. It's a labor of love.

I start with sheets of metal and chunks of stone then melt, mill, form, grind, and polish. My background in fiber art impels me to weave, bind and felt metal into organic and geometrical shapes, allowing unexpected opposites to settle into a relationship.
I begin with a technique and journey from there, following my curiosity and awe, but never losing sight of the technical needs of a design or use of the jewellery. For instance, my customers appreciate my earring designs that maximize volume with minimal weight. My pieces are imbued with an organic balance of skew, color, combination, juxtaposition, delight and a sense of calm. |
I am drawn toward unique pearls, quality semiprecious stones and silver, especially Thai silver. I love the intricate carvings and stamped designs that represent each individual tribe.
Through trial and error I've learned to design pieces that I would enjoy wearing myself. This allows me to honor my true creativity, instead of producing something just to sell. That's what makes it my art. If someone else loves it, I'm flattered, but my purpose is to generate unique designs that evolve and change as I do. |
We started with a collection of hemp and gemstone macrame jewelry in early 2015, then quickly expanded to healing bracelets, vegan leather chokers, and long knotted necklaces by the summer. Each piece of jewelry is intentionally designed and named based on the mixture of gemstones, materials used, and their healing properties. We search for eco-friendly and free-trade materials to include in our designs, including recycled glass from Bali, handcrafted wood beads from the Philippines, and handmade metal beads from Ethiopia. Our goal is to create jewelry for both men and women that is not only fun to wear, but provides healing and positive energy for one's life.
