"I’m not surprised you’re the gathering spot for everyone – cookies and all.  Your deep wisdom draws everyone to you – and I know it certainly did for me.  I remember in 1995, when Pete had had to drop out of the Presidential race because his throat surgery rendered him speechless for 3 months, that we came to Napa, stayed at the Mondavi guest house, and I called and asked you if you would let me come watch you paint.  I think I said that I didn’t need to paint, I just wanted to see how you did it.  You painted a small Napa in November for me and framed it to take home.  That changed my life forever.

I have two of your paintings on the wall of my office where I see them every day and think of you, my friend.  We also have the portrait you did of me on the wall in our living room, and I still love it.

Good morning,
Just a short note from a fellow Canadian.   Last Friday I spent a couple of hours at your gallery appreciating your collections, decorations, books and works of various sorts. It was very enjoyable.  I purchased a Manfree piece of pottery, a necklace and your delightful book of Angels.  You were very kind to sign it and I will be gifting this to my sister in law who I know will appreciate your creativity.
The pottery was wrapped well for air travel and arrived in one piece. It looks like it was made for the buffet on which it sits in my dining room.   A piece that will bring me back to Napa over the future years.
It is not my usual habit to write after visits but you were very gracious and I wanted to share my thoughts.
P.s.  Your homemade cookies were OUTSTANDING. If you want to share the recipe I would be very enthusiastic to make them myself.
