I began doing faces in 1971 and had my first major show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. I painted 25 well known personalities including
Maya Angelou, Dianne Feinstein & Melvin Belli. Fast Forward to 2020 and the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. The day after they died I awoke at 4 in the morning and an inner voice said paint these faces. I am working on a new book called Soulful Voices and this curve in the road has lead me to another new series I call Honored Souls. These are people who have touched me in some way through their Art and Hearts. The plan is to have a show of these faces in  2021 (these are done with love and some are in process.)
