Jane Lufkin

Jane Lufkin is best known for her impressionistic landscape oil paintings made with a vibrant palette and expressive impasto brushstrokes. She finds daily inspiration in the dramatic landscapes of her home in Northern California and her travels in the West.

Jane was born with an artist’s spirit and talent that was nurtured by her father, a watercolor artist and horticulturist. She pursued both fields in college and became a licensed Landscape Architect in 1983, running her own business for over 20 years. When she moved to Truckee, California in 2006 and was immersed in the natural beauty of the Tahoe/Truckee area it triggered the beginning of her art career.

​Jane’s current studio location is in the hills between St. Helena and Sonoma County where she paints scenes from the Pacific Ocean to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her deepest happiness and desire is in bringing landscapes to life in oil on the canvas, capturing the light, movement and beauty of nature.
