Michelle Moore

Michelle Moore, student of Jessel Miller's, began painting again in October 2021 after a long break from architectural rendering. The resurgence was to break free of COVID confinement and an interminable kitchen remodel by her husband, Alan. Paint & color are re-discovered joy.

Attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (Ornamental Horticulture,) Cal Poly, Pomona (Art) and San Diego State University (Environmental Design.) Learned manual architectural drafting and perspective as an undergrad. Made a living designing signage, and marketing tools for architects and interior designers, later working for a custom cabinet shop designing & drawing fabrication documents for high end homes in Southern California.

Moving to Napa, in 1996, to raise children, work for pay became freelance and part-time. Art in Vichy Elementary School became a volunteer passion. With no regular salary coming in "making" art came in the form of fiber art. Quilts and "wall hangings" are still a part of daily life. Satisfaction comes from making something out of nothing.
