The recent Kincade Fire northwest of the Napa Valley put all of us on High Alert and was a reminder of the 2017 Atlas Peak Fire less than a mile from the Jessel Gallery. The threat of what we are all thinking is the “new normal” puts everything in perspective very quickly in all our lives. It seems most appropriate that in this the month of THANKS GIVING I take a moment to review all that I am grateful for.

I am so grateful for my loving family living close and all unharmed by the fire.
I am grateful for the amazingly dramatic skies I get to witness every night on my rooftop.
I am grateful for the rainbow that appeared in the sky just after the fires keeping hope alive in all of us.
I appreciate and am so grateful for my students and for the opportunity to teach what I have learned in the 50 years I have been a professional artist.
I am grateful for the generous trip to Mendocino all my friends helped make happen and for the re energizing experience of breathing in the ocean air I love.
And I am grateful for my new heartthrob Max Meoo and for my precious Betty Girl.
AND most of all I am grateful for all my dear friends. I think the simple life I have chosen to live in the country has blessed me daily with gentle joys and lasting loving memories of a slowdown lifestyle.
