Parrot Princess had several revision and I actually completely changed concept and direction in mid stream.

It started as fish and faces and when I could not see the heart in the work I plastered paint on it and started seeing Parrots.
Since my new book, Soulful Voices, is based on the concept that the children save the endangered species and the world itself, I love going to different parts of the world and painting creatures I have never created before.
Parrots have popped into some of my past work but never like this one.
The little girl is from a South American Tribe. I love the rich colors and warm loving support these birds surround this child with. I feel the need to assure the children of the world that this too shall pass and look to the sky each morning and listen for the waking birds all over the world. They are the Soul Singing a lullaby.
PARROT SYMBOLISM
The parrot spirit animal is a message of celebration. It's a happy expression of all the good things that are happening in your life, and the good things that you have yet to experience. It symbolizes the everyday beauty that you possess and which you are surrounded with.
