At Peace, Olaf Schneider
 Olaf and Tracey | Olaf Schneider came to visit last week for his artist's reception and private welcoming party in my apartment above the gallery. He brought his gorgeous wife Tracey and together they travelled the valley and out to the coast drinking in the magnificent Northern California beauty. |
| It was one of my friends Kate who pointed out “you are a female version of Olaf, full of life, creativity, curiosity and humor." I have to admit that I, too, felt an immediate kinship with both Olaf and Tracey. They are like family from my homeland of Canada and the bond feels centuries old. |  Olaf and Jessel |
The opening reception was a great success and the most enjoyable part was Olaf’s talk. He told his life story and enchanted everyone with the tales of his ups and downs on the road to becoming the artist he is today.
The following evening I planned a rooftop party and Olaf finished a painting in my outdoor tented studio much to the joy of my guests.

| We had a guest musician playing the most interesting combo guitar and bass. Don Schiff is the husband of my of my jewelry artists “Zelda” and he loves my cookies I make everyday for the gallery, so he did this gig in exchange for eating cookies every time he visits! I got the better end of that deal! Don is the perfect person to hire for events. He is gentle and quiet yet the music fits the occasion. This whole experience filled me up with all that is precious to me in my life. I love company, great food, fabulous art and warm “no blanket summer nights”. I want to THANK Christi and Mark Lesti for their generosity and open hearts in inviting Olaf and Tracey to stay at their condo, Mark for barbequing the night of the private party. The night was warm and welcoming.
